I have too main issues with digital books. !. It doesn't smell like a book and 2. if it gets wet I'm less likely to be able to save it and will have to spend more money than a book to replace it. .-. (and also 3. I'm a notorious klutz. >>; )

Heh. I did have a relative spill grape juice (always grape juice) over one of my favorite books that I had read through three times. I bothered me to buy a new one because it didn't have the memories. :(

I just like books and get tired of staring at digital screens, but I actually quite like my e-reader. It's two main advantages are weight (I buy anthologies and such on it rather than have huge awkward books in space), and portability for travel. I used to like them when e-books were cheap, but now it's only a little cheaper to buy a new release in digital form than in print so why not get the actual book? I buy out of print stuff or classics on my e-reader now, since they are really cheap that way, even if the quality is poor. (My made-for-Kobo Lovecraft anthology is so riddled with errors I'm pretty sure they just used a spell checker and called it a day.)

lol, well I do know that Amazon also has this thing for independent authors as well. I just don't know what the whole deal with that is though sadly. But I'd love to do something like that eventually because people can make money on there, just I don't think its all that much. So it can be more so used for people interested in trying to get their name out there.
