ono why make cards to play with if no one can use them? there is no point other then collecting.. and most people like to play with their cards.. or with the online cards =/

every so often they make a card that is worded in such a way that it can be interpreted in several different ways that makes it to powerful or the card is to easily played in multiple strategies.

Or they just suck and no one wants them. o .o

Cards can become banned/illegal for a number of reasons. Generally they're only illegal in certain formats (game types). a card could be banned in the tournament formats but still be playable in standard or other formats.

Generally they're banned when the rules text can be interpreted in a way that they had not intended that leads the card to be broken in some way, or when they change the mechanics of something. like a newer card that has the same effect as a old one, but for more mana. the cheaper old one will become illegal.
then there's cards that simply turn out to be more powerful than they had intended after release, so they have to make them illegal to make things fair.

But the event last night was really fun it was a two headed giant tournament. We won one game! But then we lost the others and I was the only girl there and all of the guys were like what you want to play???? But then when they realized I was really wanting to learn they were really cool and understanding. Albeit almost all of them had been up since forever ago because of the midnight release on Friday.

Its only banned in block, standard and extended. Its valid in a bunch of other formats. There will be a good reason behind it, I'm sure

I play casual, which isn't an official format. Basically if a card isn't super old or over powered its legal. We don't care about most banned cards being used.

If they came with a phat pack theyre not technically a D20 :P since the numbers roll down instead being more randomly spread.

the only die i have ever seen where these and a normal 6 sided die.. so I wouldn't know

a 20 sided die is D20 to me xD
