Thinking? I fully intend on doing it so long as my dad doesn't bail out again. Granted I understand this year, though x.x' but I should be allowed to go next summer and spend at least a month there. I'd like to do a month and a half, though. but it's up to the girl I'm staying with. >3<'

A month and a half should be good. A couple of weeks is definitely not long enough.
I really recommend going to Harajuku and Kyoto if you get the chance.

I'll try. I know that the woman lives in/just outside of Tokyo. She said she's in tokyo but kinda out in the country. Which makes me uber curious about what kinda place she's living in. XD and gonna be awkward now cause she gets married in march and I'll be living with the two of them and I've never met the man before. But I'm still excited.

>_> This is the woman who I hosted last year BTW. XD

It shouldn't be too bad. You'll be out and about most of the time anyway.

And if you're in Tokyo, it doesn't matter too much if you're in the metropolitan area or the suburbs, the trains are fast and can take you everywhere.

XD Well I wasn't at all worried about what part of Tokyo, I was more curious is all. <3 I wanted to know what kind of house she was in then. she's teaching English, too! I told her to send me pictures. >3< But she rarely gets online ;-;

And yeah, I know. <3 I'm excited, and although I'm not confident about my Japanese speaking it, and I doubt I'll be any better by the end of next year, I'm still eager to be able to, or rather, HAVE to use it.

Plus it's always amusing whenever I talk to a Japanese person and say /anything/ in Japanese. They get all excited and happy. It's cute.

We They do! But don't worry. Quite a few people in Japan actual speak English (albeit broken English), so I think you will be fine.

XD If I don't know how to say something that's all well and good, but chances are I'll be flipping through my little notebook with my sentences. >_> I feel the intense desire to re-write everything into a different notebook bu I really love the one I have right now. XD

But broken English... Makes me think of an anime I was watching and someone was trying to talk in English and I needed the subtitles to understand them. Oh I think it was in Junjou...

lol I totally went back and reread all that was type.
very interesting to say the least! =D

@az:
I have to agree with Ash.
And you would be surprised.
A lot of the broken english isn't that bad.
And if anything they might say the word in japanese and judging by what you said about narimasu, you might be surprised by knowing it.
But I have to deal with broken english on a daily and if you are there for a month to a month and a half, you will really improve on listening - both broken english and japanese. ^^;

@ash:
Have you ever been to fukuoka?

FUKUOKA XD That's where the woman I hosted lived, and that's where her family still is. <3 I did a report on it last year. XD

And haha, nah I know most broken English isn't too bad, I was just reminded of that one instance. It wasn't so broken but the accent was so heavy and trying to fake-american that it was comical. >3<'

Never been to Fukuoka. The farthest south I've been is Hiroshima and Miyajima during a trip.

I've usually stuck to Tokyo (where family is) or Kyoto for sight-seeing.

I'm glad to know that <3 I'm excited but don't rush. ^_^ As long as I see you around I'm alright cause I know you haven't just disappeared. <3

And XD I'll find the clip, gimme a bit.

I wanna study in Japan like... maybe my final year of College or my second to last. Depends, but I really want to do that. I also want to do the JET program, but I hear it's difficult to get into. Regardless it's always worth trying.

Didn't really experience too much at Hiroshima except the Peace Memorial (which is HUGE!) and stuffing our faces to okonomiyaki because we were only there for a few hours before going to Miyajima.

Funny thing is that I've never actually gone to a hot spring before.
Will definitely go the next trip though (since I now have cheap tickets due to my job).
