Default Footloose remake   #1

Trailer

I think it looks awful to be honest.
I can't even believe that this is a serious trailer but if it isn't, then please tell me so that I feel better.
It made me think of step up or one of those ghetto dance movies, ugh.

Opinions?
Share horrible remakes?

Head Stalker
I'm sorry to say, but it seems to be real. -_-
Ugh... Some things should just be left alone. The original Footloose is great, we don't need this new stuff to appeal to the kids today.

I dunno... Maybe some remakes are okay, but I think there is a limit to what you can do..
Vampy is my stalking victim!

Yeah, exactly.
That blows, it looks like it's going to be crap.
Same, I wish they would just leave classics untouched.
I hate it when they also make sequels/prequels that blow.

We're all mad here.
It seems that movie makers of late have decided to pepper the market with remakes rather than add more films to the current franchises. I find it hard to even comprehend a remake of Footloose. Are they going to keep the original plotline or is it going to shift into something a little less religion oriented? That wouldn't surprise me.

I dunno, I've no major issues with remakes until I see them and THEN they suck. Lets face it, they've redone just about everything of late so I'm not surprised this came up next. I've mentioned elsewhere that there's really never an original idea, just a new take on an old idea. I'll give it a fair shake, but arguably, I probably won't see it in theaters unless conned into it by friends.
I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back keep me here.

It's one of those movies I'll probably watch when I see it around adn it's convinient but I won't go out of my way to see it. Very little I bother to see in theaters anymore. The last in theater movie I watched was Watchmen.

I like the idea behind Footloose I think, more than the actual movie so if that is changed, I can see there being issues but it's best to give things a chance anyway, most of the time. (I have hit movies that I still wished I hadn't watched). There was actually a very similiar plotline ot an episode of Xena: Warrior Princesss that I actually watched, and I enjoyed it. :)

Apparently the entire movie is identical to the original but the main character is just from a different place. I'm serious.
And it looks more modern.

Yeah, there's no way I'm going to see this in theatres. It looks ridiculous, it made me think of one of those ghetto dance movies at one point. D:

Ah. I suppose it's a movie update then.

Here I would normally wonder what the point would be then, but I suppose it comes down to the bottom line.

I'm not sure what I think about that. I saw the same thing done with Psycho, right down to some of the camera tricks and angles. It wasn't bad actually, though it did look a little funny with some of the more modern stuff.

Yup. 2002 I think. I my recollection of the actors is correct - which is uaully not the case - Vince Vaughn plays Norman Bates, William H. Macy plays the cop, and Viggo Mortensen plays the boyfriend of the sister of the murdered girl. I think.

I guess I could do this the easy way: IMDB

My mistake. Remade in 1998.

I guess some people really don't like black and white. On the plus side, it does bring the movie back for new audiences who may not bother to watch it otherwise. Footloose was not something I would have picked myself. I watched it - most of it - off the TV because my stepmom was watching it and I was in the same room. I would definately need a refresher on what the movie really is.
