I read it and don't really understand it lol

The numbers on the sides are guides so like Row 10 had 9 filled squares all touching, But Row 6 has 5 squares filled but they don't all touch so it is 1 1 1 2 meaning 1 filled break 1 filled break 1 filled break 2 filled.
It is basically battle ship with guide lines.
