Okay, so we have some individual art places (mostly commissions), and some things collected to help artists improve, but I just had a thought of making an artist gallery, where Trisphee users can supply some of their favorite works, and someone (like myself) can make a "Museum" out of them, somewhat like the Library. Thoughts?

Sort of like image hosting, but to show off to people... So you mean essentially Deviant Art, but as a feature on the site.
The idea could play out well, people would certainly use it. Especially if it ties into your profile. My main concern would be the cost of hosting so many pictures, unless it's like a scrapbook and you submit links from other sites of where your photos are at.
And then to make multiple scrapbooks/folders of what you want to put into them. (Avatar art, Character Art, Misc, ect.)

I could see this being something a lot of people would do, and it would create a boost for the art community and art store owners on the site.
I'm all in for it. I might end up using it.

The image link scrapbook was closer to what I was thinking of, primarily because I do not have the experience/liberty to code something like that into Trisphee.

I do not think it would be too hard to have another tab up top where it says art gallery and to have the site host images. I am just concerned about the interest. I mean Trisphee already has a DA and I am not sure when or who the last person was to submit art to it. The same with the Trisphee Art Blog, and well to be frank all of its social media outlets.

Part of me wonders if those attempts die either because most social media outlets are so cluttered nowadays, or because those updating the sites leave Trisphee without passing the account on...

This is true. I guess I would have to ask some of the older staff where I can find the information. But I know The trisphee blog has been deleted but it is still in my watch list xD.

Yeah, a lot of people on Trisphee use photo bucket I would more be interested in personal user walls. Like another tab on your profile to save your artwork in and have like 5 ten spots for your favorite images. Pink & Mizzy would probably have a hard time choosing just a few though. Rawr… pros and cons pros and cons. I like the idea as a site run feature, because I have a trisphee folder on my computer with avis and commissions.

It's so hard to keep up with social media! I like Tiva's idea of a sort of personal wall.

I also like Law's idea or a sort of hosted art museum.

But I also don't want to make more work for the coders here.

We've had a discussion thread about this before. It'd be easy to implement (I've done at least four gallery scripts in my life), but the problems that arise involve copyright and moderation.

It's one thing to have you guys host your own content off-site and link to it. There's no copyright concerns there. But when we host the content on our own server, either it means that you have to assign copyright to us and we have to set up licensing to let you use it (we already do this for your posts), or it means that you have to give us a license to use your stuff and we have to keep track of it all.

In both cases it means we have to deal with takedown requests, and we'd probably have to be a lot more careful with moderation for things like art theft, which is a whole mess of drama.

You can already set up yourself a gallery in a thread. We offer all the tools you need for that, and if there's enough interest we could look into setting up a few more formatting options for the job.
