Anybody here know about this intriguing group? It's like as if Gorillaz met dance music met art. They're a virtual band that's made up of the sexy Cherry, Goldie Foxx and Dyna Mink (along with a bear that's their manager haha)
Their look is wholly unique and their sound is pretty awesome, Eros and Apollo is my fave of their songs, with Jenny as a close second.

Virtual bands fascinate me, I think it's something that'll really start being more popular as the net makes collaborations across long distances even more possible.

No but they now sound interesting I think I may look into them. Have you ever heard of Baby Metal? This a kicker they are metal band that lotita it's weird.

Ha I've heard of both of them. I love Studio Killers, I have most of their songs on my phone! <3 My favorites would have to be 1. Who's in your heart, 2. Friday Night Gurus, and Eros and Apollo, which started my love for this virtual band. I really like virtual bands but nothing that was artificially done, like Hatsune Miku from Volcaloids. If you guys ever heard of it, it's a japanese virtual band but the singer is a program. It's really off putting when I hear this kind of music. I can hear the artificialness of the voice and it's kind of a turn off. Not like how bands like Studio killers and Gorillaz actually have people behind the voices.

Baby metal is really strange yet really catchy too. xD

Eros I agree with you, I much prefer virtual bands with real singers behind them -- Vocaloid stuff, I can't say much about because I don't know much about it at all but from what music I've heard, I don't like it at all.

I hate too much digitalization in music though so I might be biased towards it to start with. Like for instance - I really hate Owl City lmao. I'm just like ughh every time I hear one of their songs, auto-tune that's used in an ENTIRE song instead of just using for certain parts bugs the crap out of me.

Like I think it should just be used as an effect, not to hide the fact your singer can't sing >3> fufu

I wish the tour Studio Killers was kickstarting extended to the US I wanna see it so baaad OTL

I was once huge into the Vocaloid fandom back in the early days. I still haven't had time to check out Studio yet. But as for the fact of Baby Metal, yes they are strange and odd but catchy none the less. At times Japan seems to make things work out for them when you think it would fail in away.

I think it's the effort of research they put into each band. Because those girls didn't know what metal was. So my guess is they researched on Metal and then made their own spin to it. Which is the best way to make it yours. I don't think it would've worked if the sound was like any other metal band I've heard of. They have their own twist to it and I think that's one of the reasons why people like Baby Metal so much.

That is true, they kinda just went for it and the company was like that is great. Cause just knowing it was something on the fly for them is what made it so great. At times I wish most bands stayed or stuck around to doing some old things but then again most just wanna go and get famous quick and forget about the real deal with music.

Well from what my friend has shown me many J-pop and K-pop bands love to emulate american style, albeit a few years behind. I think that's what get people to listen. That and the how well looking the actual singers are.

And yes, it always about making money, most bands tend to try and find out what works. As mentioned above the fashion and the sound of the songs are usually based on what's popular. They don't play over there, they do all the research they can and it's really a good outcome for them. Check how many people actually go to their concerts. It's insane!

I was looking how much fanbase they had gotten in such a short time. I was talking to friend of mine who got tickets and the time off to go I was really jelly of him and kinda made he told me last min cause I would have gone my self.

Must be awfully expensive to attend one of these concerts. OmO And it must be even impossible to even get in knowing how quickly tickets are sold here.

OKay I listened to a few of their songs and honestly I am some where kinda... not sure. I like the graphics but as a person who listens heavily to dance/techno music I am not sure where they are and if I like them. Sure they are some what easy listening like Daft punk but they do not feel as catchy and 'lets go dance' as some of Daft punk. They also remind me a little bit of Gossip if only because their main figure is a heavy set woman and they sound as though they are not native to the US. I am still not sure if I like them or not.

They're not, I think they're Swedish or something european. The main singer may be a heavy set woman but her vocals aren't from a woman. Which is pretty awesome, I think a few of their sons are pretty catchy and I'd dance to them. But not as Dancey as Daft Punk. They hold a special place in my heart. <3
