Default acne   #1
acne is annoying the heck out of me 0-0 I'm 28 years old I should be past that stage rofl. I'm currently breaking out around my chin and I hates it. What do you guys and gals do for your acne? luckily mines not cystic or anything like that I think its more hormonal. So I'll probably always get it but meh, wanted to discuss acne lol and yes I like popping zits I know I shouldn't but its so satisfying lol

Lurker of Lurkiness
Ugh I have scars and huge red zits and scabs (from picking at them) all over my face and I'm 21. SO annoying. x.x

Also, I don't know if anyone else has this issue, but whenever I see/feel a bump on my skin whether it be a zit, scab, blister, or anything else, .... I just have to squeeze it and try to pop it and pick at it and scratch at it. Usually until I bleed. I can't stop D8 !!

(And I do agree ... As gross as it is, when a zit pops while you're squeezing it, it feels soooo satisfying XD)

I find popping zits satisfying as well, so don't feel too bad about it.

When I break out (usually after eating chocolate) I use this kind of face wash called Noxzema that you can get at Walgreens, Rite Aid, and CVS.

I have to pop zits. I can't stand leaving them there! I even uncontrollably pop my husband's pimples if he gets one. >.> I blame that habit on my mom doing the same to me when I was growing up.

I had really bad acne as a teenager and I spent way more time at the dermatologist's office than I would have liked. I took some pills called Acutaine (no idea if that's how it's spelled) that helped regulate my hormones and made me break out less. I hear birth control really helps with acne as well.

My friend took Acutane, it really worked for her. I take Doxyclycline which is just an antibiotic. It really helps. I think I'll be stopping it this month to see how it goes.
I used to have a sig. Really.

*is happy she's not the only zit squisher, and not the only one who "attacks" their significant other's face*

I'm obsessive at times with my face. I've noticed that I subconsciously feel my face for bumps and if I feel one, I wind up squeezing it until it either pops or it hurts enough for me to be like, "Eff this, I'll come back to you when I can see you..." >.>

My husband's face gets bad when he shaves, and he gets ingrown hairs constantly, so I "attack" his face with tweezers every couple of days to help him out, and oddly enough, relieve some of my own stress... >.<'

I've been using Stridex cleaning pads for sensitive skin, and they've been helping to clear my skin up. I've just gotta quit picking at the bumps that are trying to heal so they'll go away.

I've had trouble with acne since I was twelve or thirteen, and I'm going on twenty-four. Lucky me... After trying pretty much everything under the sun, from astringent scrubs to plain old water and all manner of this-and-that in between, I finally went to a dermatologist a few months ago (mind you I wouldn't have been able to go long before then for financial reasons, otherwise I likely would have). Got prescribed a gel that seems to work fairly well for me. I just have to remember to use it heavily twice a day, or else the acne will come back with a vengeance. It sucks, I tell you.

But yeah, I have a thing about picking at imperfections. Scabs, pimples, and any other weird little thing I find (even moles, and that never ends well) get the same treatment: claw at it until it's gone and left a big bloody spot in its place. And I do it to other people, too, if I can get away with it. But I've been getting better about that and not doing it so much, because while sometimes it does actually help, sometimes it just makes things worse and I definitely don't need any scabs or scars on my face.

I consider myself so, so lucky...
I've never had a problem with acne.
Not at all through my teen years, not as a young adult.
I've been very fortunate!

I get a zit every now and then.
But it's rare and never a big deal.
My brother, on the other hand, has had terrible acne...
He has suffered since he was 13.
He's now almost 21 and it's not any better.
He has tried medicines, but nothing really worked.
The one thing that did work... after using it for a few months he had a terrible allergic reaction to it!
It's really frustrating. The whole thing.

wonderful & strange

I have fair-to-pale combination skin.
Slightly uneven, but I don't have too many issues with break-outs.

Well, unless I've fallen asleep with my make-up on.

I stick to a daily skin care routine. Nothing extravagant, pretty basic stuff.
Every morning and night I use an exfoliating facial scrub, followed by toner and when that cools I use a brightening moisturizer.
Three small applications in the morning to make sure that my skin is soft and hydrated enough to withstand whatever the day brings.
One application after the aforementioned routine at night, a slightly thicker type.

Occasionally, maybe once or twice a week I'll use an at-home microdermabrasion kit to clear off the dead tissue.

When I do get a small break-out, it's usually along my jaw-line or around my chin. Maybe one or two zits max.
I learned my lesson from popping them, I have a few scars from that.
Now, I camouflage any red bumps with make up until they develop a head.
When that happens, I take a sterilized pin to perforate -just the white head, then gently put my fingers on either side and squeeze out the nastiness.
Afterwards I treat it with toner and let it breathe over night.
It's a more non-violent approach to reduce to chances of scarring.

If I do get blackheads (usually happens in the Summer), I use clear pore strips. That normally does the trick.

I want to try charcoal face wash.

Man, I wish that I would have known all of these things when I was a teenager. It would have saved me a lot of grief as well as trial-and-error.

i know i need like an actual medicated prescription product probably but I don't have the money for that

my pores have always been extremely large tho so that's not helpful either lmao

I don't really have bad acne anymore, I get a small break out every now and again, and a break out for me is one or two zits, my skin is kind of dry and I use an argan oil based cleanser to keep it hydrated. I'm 23 and my acne gets less with every year.

I had really bad acne as a teenager, and now it's sporadic. Really only bad whenever I work out and don't shower too well....limited largely to my chest and back unfortunately. Occasionally pops up on my face.
