Default Having Teeth Removed   #1
So, I went to the dentist yesterday to have all of my wisdom teeth removed. So, that was an interesting experience. It did not hurt, he used a lot of anesthetic because when he first started trying to pull them, it did hurt just a little. He did not want me to have to endure any pain, so if I expressed that it hurt at all, he would numb it more.

This was only my third trip to a dentist ever. The first time was just a cleaning, then they checked for cavities and only had to fill one because that's all I had. Then, the last one, was when he pulled my teeth. It's a good thing too because they were starting to mess up my alignment. My top teeth are perfect. The last thing I would have wanted is to get braces after having perfectly aligned teeth my entire life.

Just so you know, I'm 26 years old and my parents were poor. That is why I'm just now getting dentist appointments. Also, my dentist is smoking hot. If I were single I would totally be hitting on him.

So, yeah. Just discuss dentist visits and the like.

I'm glad you had a better experience getting your wisdom teeth removed than I did. Only good thing about it, to me, was getting to eat a lot of ice cream and mashed potatoes.
I never really had bad visits to the dentist, so I never really understood what everyone was so afraid of. :/ The worst it ever got was a really uncomfortable cleaning recently and have to get molds made of my teeth. I hate the pink goop-y stuff and having a wimpy gag reflex. D8<

My dentist was a hot sexy beast (I shouldn't be saying that about my dentist that ripped out my teeth, I'm a bad girl XD).

I'm 20 and I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, your's a better experience than I had I was struggling in the beginning, but then in the end I focused mostly on the music it was playing in the background and that for some reason dulled my pain senses. Even though I had 12 Novocaine shots and anesthesia still didn't help the pain.

When they removed my upper left tooth they ripped a part of my roof off, so it bled bad and they had to stitch it up, gave me prescription to generic Vicodin. and throughout the day I swallowed my own blood with no food in my system. So when my friend drove me home I almost puked up blood in his car so at times we had to pull over on the interstate. I had to go through it three times before we got to my place.

@Crystal: I think why people are afraid of the dentist is because they are so intimately close to you, as well as the instruments they use looks intimidating. and one last thing, if something went wrong in your mouth you can't see what's wrong so it ends up being the worst of the worst imagination possible.

I guess I was just really lucky to get a good dentist. The assistants even gave the tools names to make them less scary when I was a kid. The only thing that made me a little nervous was the show Braceface. Meh, I've already accepted that I'll never understand why people fear dentists.

I was afraid to go to the dentist the first time. I was worried that my teeth would be full of cavities and stuff. The dentist was surprised at how few cavities I had considering that I had never been before.

We're all mad here.
Dentists I don't like, but I thinks it's because I don't like people poking around in my mouth. Wierds me out a little.

I had to have an oral surgeon take my wisdome teeth out since they were growing in funny directions, likely from the braces I had. I'm 28 and got them removed last year. I knew they were still there so I wore my retainer for ages and that's what probably saved my teeth alignment.

I had general anaesthesia and stiches to close the holes up. That's all pretty normal for impacted teeth. A few days high on painkillers (only the first day was really bad) and a couple weeks of mushy food and everything was fine. The stitches drove me nuts though, until they came out.
