Default Move Unseen [m]   #1

Chicago, perhaps one of the greatest places to be in the magical world. While Chicago's citizens dwells and ripens like the the rest of mortal kind, here lies a dangerous might, unseelie by nature, and yet the whole world has been waiting a long time to see it move. Some to ask for power, others wealth or glory in defeating it, and one, who no one would have expected to, would ask for mortality, given the chance.

Chicago is known for a variety of "hangouts" in which people of magical talent and nature can sit and chat without fear, without worrying of the consequence of talking to creatures of such a nature that may be considered dangerous otherwise. One of which, the most infamous, is the Bar of Hal Gibson, the only underground pub in the city where they serve a nice warm beer, meant to be warm, of course.

Jacob, nameless now in the shame of his previous life, sat here on his last dollar and last set of clothes that hadn't been torn by the ravagings of senseless mortals' lust and on the last raw steak that he would eat from Hal's in a long time. It was good, but the taste of blood in the meat felt tainted compared to the pure taste of...

I shouldn't be thinking that, he thought to himself and bit down into the steak, hard.

It Won't Stop
"Why, why does he always do this to me?"

It had been hours since Elizabeth had first started searching. She was tired, irritated, and absolutely starving. It was no wonder, really. She'd only gone out of her way to drive for hours to get back home as soon as possible just to find her good for nothing brother was nowhere to be found. She thought he would have known better. Days ago, she had called to remind them all that she was finally coming home — hopefully for good, now that she was no longer in active duty — and yet he'd still gone out drinking. Drinking of all things!

A light shiver went down the length of her spine. She glanced back behind her, her bright eyes narrowing as she scanned where she'd just come from. She smoothed her hands over the front of her shirt, habitually straightening out the line of buttons. She'd already gone to most of the places that she knew of. Unless he'd found some tramp to spend the evening with, there was only one more place she could think to try. She shook her head and got moving once again.

Elizabeth had never felt quite comfortable in places like this. The yellowed lights made her scrunch her nose as she stepped into the pub, the sound of her boots against the hard floor much too loud in her own ears. While the steady murmur of noise filling the place was almost comforting, one glance around at the people scattered throughout it reminded her just why she never liked dropping by. There was something deeply unsettling about it all. She'd been told by her family that it was something one just had to get used to, being around these types of people, but it had been quite some time since she'd last done so. Setting her hands on her hips, the tall woman did her best to brush off the feeling as she scanned the room, hoping to find a glimpse of that troublesome man.

Jacob looked to his right as a flash of light appeared from a newly created hole in the Never Never, and next to him sat Meave of the Winter Fae.
The Never Never is a realm, parallel to the mortal realm, and the home to many things: the dead, the immortal, but mainly resident to the Fae, who have built entire realms out of their spiritual presence. Most mortals who have no connection to the magical world take the openings and closings of the Never Never as the eye playing tricks, lest the world call them crazy. The darkness of the Never Never gives evidence as to why it is normally better for the Never Never to stay tightly shut, only allowing a high amount of magical power to cross.
Meave, however, while not being the greatest of the Fae, Meave was definitely powerful enough to transcend this rule without too much strain.
"Hello, Jacob. You seem to be eating healthily tonight," she said, sarcastically. The Fae never bothered people of the mortal world without reason, mostly in conflict with Fae of the opposite nature, not that Jacob knew this.
He glanced up at her. "Hmn (Hi)," he tried to say through his food. He was already irritated with the woman, who somehow got his name without them knowing.

It Won't Stop
As Elizabeth's bright eyes flicked over each of the patrons that evening, she caught sight of an odd flicker out of the corner of her eyes. When she looked over to where it had come from, however, she found nothing but a dark haired man and his companion. Was she there before? She pursed her lips slightly as she thought. After a second, and coming to a conclusion she almost wished she hadn't, she shook her head, ridding herself of the thought. It didn't matter.

Instead, the made her way to the bar, her hips swaying and boots clicking with every step that she took. She was already fishing out her wallet, either unaware or uninterested in what few looks she was actually given, when the barkeep stepped over. In lieu of asking what, exactly, she wanted, the man just raised a brow. It was good enough for Elizabeth. She flipped open her wallet, a leather number that was far past the point of looking nice anymore, and pulled out a photo. "I'm looking-" She set it on the counter and slid it across to the man. "-for this jerk. You seen him around here?"

Both Jacob and Meave looked at the photo at the same time that it was slid to the Hal. And as the barkeep shrugged, Jacob went back to his steak, but before he could take another bite, Meave began to creep him out with a face of great delight. "Ah! I know that one," she said delightfully. "He's not going to return home any time soon." She began to chuckle slowly, as Jacob, who was disturbed enough already at the Fae turned his head and asked "What do you mean?"
"Not many people like this one. They say he's crazy and that he helps people too." Jacob noted that Meave never gave her own opinion, though. Turning his head back, he felt generous, besides it was his last payable meal. He might as well been able to actually pay it.
"Where and when did you see him last?"
