Hey are there any mass effect fans here? Anyone else flying all over the galaxy as commader Shepard the stop the reaper invasion?
Mass effect 3 is comming out here soon and im wondering, which mass effect was better? Mass effect 1 or 2 and which aspects were better and which were worse?

We had a thread on Mass Effect here, but it eventually turned into all Bioware games.

I liked the 2nd game better, which came as a surprise to me since I thought I would hate it for dumbing-down the RPG elements, but I found the actual gameplay to be amazingly improved. The fight where you rescue Garrus, and the one on board the Derelict Reaper are both among the most thrilling video game moments I've ever had.

The only thing that annoyed me about 2 slightly was being limited to only 2 party members. It got really hard to pick near the end, they gave you many awesome characters. I really liked Legion, too bad he joins so late in the game. I never got very far with unlocking his backstory, unfortunately.

You can unlock Leigons backstory by talking to him postgame (*spoilers assuming he's still alive) and he'll tell you the geth side of the war between the Quarians and the geth

At first I started by playing Mass Effect 2, but decided to go back and play the first game. Was a bit hard back-tracking, but having almost gone through the second game with my Mass Effect 1 profile, don't regret it. Can't wait for the third game to come out this spring.
