Best thing since cheese-in-a-can!
Default Traveling   #1
No matter where you are, you've undoubtedly had to go somewhere else at some point in your life. Thus, you've had to travel. There are many ways to travel, such as by car, plane, train, bicycle, and walking.

Let us discuss travel.

What is your favorite/least favorite way to travel?
Have you traveled recently?
What is your favorite/least favorite part of traveling?
Do you prefer to travel alone or with friends and/or family?

I've found that I like traveling by plane, granted that I don't get the seat in front of a toddler with toys. I don't like long car rides, though. It's hard to do much of anything when you're traveling by car.
The last time I traveled for personal reasons was a year ago when I went by plane across the country for an anime convention.
I hate the day/evening before I'm about to travel. I tend to over-think things and don't get much sleep. I love arriving at my destination, though, because of how exciting it is to just be away from home for a while.
I prefer to travel alone when possible, but I don't mind having a close friend with me.

What is your favorite/least favorite way to travel?
Small puddle jumper plane. I CAN HEAR IT RATTLING! It makes me feel like we're all gonna die
Have you traveled recently?
Other than to the university? Nope
What is your favorite/least favorite part of traveling?
Favorite: Getting there/home
Least: Being stuck with shit piled on top of me
Do you prefer to travel alone or with friends and/or family?
With someone, then at least I won't die alone. Also, we might be less likely to get lost.

Does that mean you don't care for the journey, but just the destination?

What is your favorite/least favorite way to travel?

----My favorite way to travel is by plane because I'm so used to plane flights that's it's not that eventful.

----The worst is by either bus or car rides cause I get car sick easily. Planes just so super faster than road trips.

Have you traveled recently?

----Out of state it's been at least 3 years to my home state New York, since my mom wouldn't really let me see my extended family members.

----In state was to Denver for a con back in September.

What is your favorite/least favorite part of traveling?

----My favorite part of the travel is the finishing result which is to get there.

---- The least favorite part is to ACTUALLY PAY FOR IT

Do you prefer to travel alone or with friends and/or family?

----I'd rather with my friends, my family is just annoying and being all by myself is just lonely that it makes me want to cry.

It just means the trip there usually sucks. Being in a car for 24 hours with lots of stuff piled on top of you? Not fun.

Looking out airplane windows make me feel sick...and electronics aren't allowed. So I'm just sitting there hoping I'll fall asleep.

Yeah, I can sympathize with that. I once spent 24 hours in a car with Giftmas presents all over me. We were going from Florida to Texas to visit family for the holidays... and my brother was in the back seat with me as well.

I bring my sketchbook, paperwork, and reading material when I'm on flights.

I don't really like to fly. It's quicker but I don't like it. If a genie or something offered me the ability to fly.. I'd say no thanks. ><

For some reason I really hate the Metrolink.
It's the St. Louis area's take on a subway and it makes me really nervous. I think they drive it faster than they used to. Used to be the only part that bothered me was when it went over the highway but now the whole thing makes me shaky.

Given the choice I'd rather sit in the car.
Preferably a spacious and comfy one. being crammed in gets old FAST.

my family has this huge 15 seater van, and we all cram in it to go on trips...usually at least 11 hours long. D: with loud kids...i do like getting places and sleeping though, so if i get a long nap its not as bad. ive been on an airplane once since i was a baby, and i loved it XD when we landed it was right over the area of the river that id rowed on, so i was very excited :P

well you can bring electronics like ipods and laptops on the plane, but you can't use it until the plane is at cruising level (30,000 ft). And forget using your cell phone it's not allowed to call others, but you can play games on your phone

*twitch*
For a mile or two, I love and adore biking, walking is okay and cars are only good if it is freezing or logn distances.
I also love planes but they're expensive and terrifying but I LOVE staring out the window. :D

What is your favorite/least favorite way to travel?
At first I wasn't sure what to put under here... until I saw the first post that is. I will definitely have to agree that puddle jumper planes are the absolute worst way to travel. Especially if the plane has someone sick in it and/or the day holds bad weather. *faces turns slightly green from the thought of being on a small airplane when it's windy*

My favorite way to travel would probably be driving, because you can stop whenever you like. I love flying, especially if it's a night flight and I get the see the sunset/sunrise, but if I'm going on a 10hr+ flight and I can't move... I tend to get a little antsy.

Have you traveled recently?
Yes. Flying: August. Driving: September. Both were to visit family (the same people actually).

What is your favorite/least favorite part of traveling?
Hmm. If by plane, my favorite part of traveling is arriving there. If by car, my favorite part is all the pit-stops we get to make and/or any scenery passed... mostly the pit-stops though. (:

When flying, my least favorite part of traveling, like you, is the week of my travels (before I actually fly). For a few days up until two days before I fly, I'm very very anxious about my flight, even if it's a small 2 hour flight. The day before and day of my flight, however, I'm still very nervous but kind of go into a coma state to try and make myself stay calm at least for the security check. For driving, my least favorite part of the travel would have to be the drive itself. I don't like sitting in the same spot for hours at a time.

Do you prefer to travel alone or with friends and/or family?
With family and/or friends.

What is your favorite/least favorite way to travel?
By plane, no doubt. :D But I enjoy the occasional road trip!

Have you traveled recently?
Well... I walked up to Dairy Queen yesterday. lol

What is your favorite/least favorite part of traveling?
My favorite is when I get to my destination, meet new people, try new things, etc. My least favorite part is the lack of sleep during transportation. haha.

Do you prefer to travel alone or with friends and/or family?
Either/or. I could go either way. I think I would prefer to have someone I know with me, but I could have a good time if I was alone as well.

I hate airplanes, especially if there's a kid behind/near me, and even more so if that kid is an untrained brat who screams/kicks/talks/has a loud game that makes annoying beepy noises. Whenever I can, I travel by boat. I love the gentle rocking of the waves, or the big rocking of big waves. I love the ocean and the way it smells.

Recently, I went to South Carolina. Lol. Not very interesting.

I love getting to my destination and doing stuff, but I really love it if I have to learn a new language. I LOVE linguistics and cultures. I hate the last day of the trip, because I know in my mind I'm leaving the next day. Also I hate it if I have to travel on a plane.

It will really depend on the destination, me deciding who I travel with. I like traveling alone or with a small, select group of people, especially if it's something like caving or ice-climbing.
bitches please

Harmless
I live in a relatively small city, so I walk everywhere or take the free bus when I get lazy. I don't own a car, either, so I guess that helps..

I love travelling in general. Planes, cars.. you name it, I love it. I've yet to be on a boat, though. But as for my favorite, I'd say car rides. I have motion sickness, so it's not like I can do much in a car, but I've learned to like it. I didn't discover motion sickness medicine until I was much older, but I had to do cross-country road trips four times a year. I could read maps without getting sick. I could stay up and guide my dad, who got lost a lot. It was a good time to bond with my dad and my brother..

I really, really miss those car rides. ): The worst part was when the ride was over. Even though I got to sleep in a nice warm bed, my parents are divorced. Those car rides were some of the best and only times I got to see them as a kid. Mommy was a single mom raising two children and Daddy was a top-notch radio DJ.
