Default Picking out my first car   #1

I've always thought of owning one of these.

A 70's Chevrolet Belair ( especially one that resembled the two that were for sale once upon a time near my home ), but then I thought about how pricey gas is and how I would absolutely need a good job to afford it. I would also need a good job to maintain it and if I don't maintain it well... it becomes shit. I wouldn't want that, especially since I would probably be spending $5000 on one, though I've seen them go for more... so that began to turn me off as well, the price.

I've been thinking seriously about what I potentially want to save up for. My boyfriend gave some suggestions but when I looked into them I didn't feel excited about them or loved the idea of driving them. I decided that if I were to get a car it would have to be red, black or white and it couldn't be two doored ( since insurance would be pricier because a two doored car is considered a sports car ). I also want an American car. I thought of maybe getting a car like my boyfriend's. A 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Brougham so I started looking at those ( they range from $2000 - $3000, my boyfriend bought him for $2000 and it's in mint condition ). Then I found some photo's of 1990's Caprices. I've seen one before, but I didn't really like it but... I picked out a random year decided to look up 1995. I like them a lot. Big, but not as big as my boyfriend's car and probably a little bit better on gas. Plus if I'm lucky I can buy one second hand that can be RED or WHITE or BLACK. - drools and has seizure -

Now I want one. I looked into it a bit for an idea of how much one in good condition would cost. Around $3000 - $5000. - shrugs - It will last me a long time, I'll also make sure to save up a lot more than just what I'm going to use to buy the car with... and yeah. HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS GUYS.

SO GUYS. Tell me what you want your first car to be or tell me what your first was/is!

I'm not really sure either, I'm going to look more into it but it's definitely going to be better than a 70's Chevrolet Belair or a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice. Plus it will be more affordable ( well compared to the Chevrolet Belair anyways ). If I get a car it has to be in good condition so I'm going to have to save up a lot to be able to make a good offer on one. Of course if I find one selling for $4000, I'll try to get it for $3500 or something. - shrugs - and it has to be red, black or white. I'm picky...

my car was in better condition when i first got it from my grandfather... it's just had a few hard times where it wasnt driven for a extended period of time and the insides are old so the plastic is cracked and the top needs to be redone D; ... needs a new paint job but thats a known issue with the royal's paint.

I talked to my boyfriend about getting a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic and he said that it's both durable and reliable. My boyfriend is quite the car fanatic... xD he knows a lot about cars so if this car was no good he would have told me that it's a bad idea to get it. He even said it would be better than his Caprice.

I wouldn't even mind getting a 1994 one or 1996 they are similar, just a year younger or older. - shrugs -

1994:

1996:

All three range anywhere from $2000 - $5000.

Yeah, that's a good thing about old cars. My boyfriend's Chevrolet Caprice is probably going to last him a really long time in it's current condition and he plans to keep it in tip-top shape.

Awh poor thing. xD
I'm looking up more of these for sale. Between 1993 - 1996 and I'm mostly finding them for $3000 - $4000. Oh the pain. I'm going to be saving up forever for one.

This may not be in the color that I want but I would buy it and this. They are both bluuue.
This as well.
- shrugs -
I can deal with the blue for a car in good condition. And of course I would try to save $500 on the car.

Mother Ship
My first car was my favorite so far, a 1993 Mercury Sable.

Not as good on gas mileage as my new car...we had to replace the battery, and later, the motor, but it was a good little car. (Okay it wasn't little, but it was MINE!) We got it for like 600 at a police auction.

My second car was an upgraded version-a 1996 Lincoln Continental. Love the sun/moon roof...but it was a POS.

My current car is the downgraded version of both...a 1997 Ford Taurus. Not as bad as the Lincoln and has the best gas mileage, but my mother bought it with out me. It runs great....but doesn't crank right (easy fix-the starter just needed to be popped back in the right place) and mother didn't realize this, but the windshield wipers didn't work right...had to replace the multifunction switch. Friggin yay and I had to pay for it when she should've never bought the car for higher than PERFECT condition blue book value. -is still a bit angry about that-

I would have been really annoyed with that as well. To be honest I probably would have refused to pay for it, she bought it without my consent and didn't even pay what she should have for it but then expects me to pay for it? xD
Not going to happen aha.
And I love Lincoln's they're so nice.

Snap!
Wow that thing is a beast!! Lol.

I'd just like something that runs good and gets really good gas mileage. I'd like something small and I'd prefer my first car to be an automatic, even though everyone here prefers manual transmissions. I don't like how manuals shift gears.. sometimes it's rough and I prefer a ride with no sudden, rough surprises.

Yeah, it's going to be a big car. I believe that it's full-sized but I could always be wrong. Though my boyfriend probably would have corrected me when I said that it was... xD Since he know so much about cars. It won't be as big as his 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Classic though haha.

It's going to be a very reliable and durable car, it was definitely last me a very long time if I maintain it well which I certainly plan to do. I want to find one with a V8 for sure. I love V8s. I like bigger cars I guess because I'm 5'10 and can't imagine myself in a small car, at least me being that comfortable in one. My boyfriend had to drive a Mazda 3 and I was very uncomfortable in it, same goes for my dad's Mazda, my grandmother's Ford and my mom's Ford. I looked up some reviews on the vehicle and it gets good mileage. :D
