Dreams | #1 | |
I don't often remeber my dreams. But I have noticed that some times your are in picture form and some times they are just thoughts. Yes I know dreams are just thoughts but some times your dreams are pictures very vivid pictures.
Pictures your mind can creates while you sleep. But why can't we make these thoughts into pictures when we aren't sleeping? If we could it would be very entertaining no one would ever be bored. What do you think of this idea?

Not sure what I think of that. Even if I forget a dream I had, I usually recall that I had a dream of some sort, and that notion itself tends to occupy more time for me than thinking about a dream I remember clearly. I imagine people could still get bored or impatient, waiting for the next dream.
My dreams are hit and miss whether or not I remember them. Curiously though, I've found that during times where I'm actively writing or thinking about a story, they come in expecially vivid in image and detail, and I can almost recite word for word what happened and the details I saw. It's like dreams, or my dreams, are affected by the amount of creative thought I'm engaging in at times. Although, I never really know what to do with those images and such when I wake up.

The most vivid of my dreams are nightmares. It's kind of fun at the end of a nightmare when you realize you're dreaming and then just do whatever you want in the small amount of time from then until you wake up XD. I only remember really strange dreams it seems. Maybe all of my dreams are really strange though.

I don't like it when nightmares stick around though there's only one I've had that's been an issue and that one turned out to be eerily prophetic later on. I can't help but feel that some dreams have some bearing in life. Keyword 'some' not 'all.'
Strange just comes with the territory I figure. The best media representation of a dream I think was done in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer ("Restless" I think it was called.) Interesting stuff. I remember once pondering the question as to whether one dreams in colour. For a while I was never really sure until I had one dream where I was in a distorted version of the mall in the city I grew up in and I happened to be in a barbie isle in the toy section and the whole thing was bright pink. I remember that quite well. In the dream itself I believe I was looking for a treasured toy of mine that kept disappearing.

I apparently dream a LOT. Years ago a friend told me that he NEVER dreamed, and I pondered that so I would leave a notepad by my bed just to keep count. If I woke up in the middle of the night and recalled having a dream I'd add a count, then add a count in the morning for any additional dreams. As I rarely sleep completely through the night even on good ones I apparently dream about 5 dreams a night.
That being said, I have what I call 'cascading' nightmares. The same one every time I fall asleep. My body will wake me up, I will know it was just a dream, I'll go back to sleep and have the SAME ONE over again. One night this went on for nearly a dozen times. It was only in the last one I realized it was yet again a dream and it didn't end the same. I've also had prophetic dreams, one very eerie one involving friends of my mother and a movie I am terrified of. All I can say is that my brain is hard wired to freak me right out. ![]() __________________________________________ Nikko was here out of love for Fey. <3|What is your Quest?| beautiful art by littl3chocobo

I have never had any thought dreams, none that I remember anyway all my dreams are very vivid and strange and visionary.
Like the one with the wiggly cactus, and the bright lush tree lined dirt road I ran down (it was to hide from the cactus who had possessed a lady who had a mouth that grew to eat it.. the dream was a LOT more involved than that), or the one with the guy who could change his hair, eye and skin color by stealing people's faces... (more sinister than the dream it self seemed). I'm sorta glad I can't make my thoughts seem real IRL.. all my dreams are trippy, and often creepy out of context, or even a bit surreal and creepy IN context. Besides,I bet my mind would take over.. >.>

I think it would be very odd to be dreaming while awake. At the very least it would be like a trance like state, I imagine, which could be problematic if snapping out of it becomes an issue, and that's something I associate with dreams. I can alter my dreams a little if I don't like where they're going while I'm asleep, but I am not very good at waking myself up, though I recall thinking that in my dreams often enough. Having that happen during the day might lead to some strolls into telephone poles, among other things.
