reporting options.. etc | #1
Seeing another invasion of bots.. (and trying to report them one by one), wouldn't it be easier if there was a way we could send one report with all the bots in than having to wait 60 seconds to send a report each.. (I have about ten more waiting to be reported and not sure if anyone else is reporting them at the moment) And even as I report these, I have noticed more bots posting..
And nothing against the mods/admins but seeing that most of them are in the United States, wouldn't it be smarter in the long run to have someone in the UK or in that vicinity that is able to take care of the bots when the United States people are not available? Instead of members having to wait, there would be a member around who can handle the problem, maybe not right away but at least in 30 min - 1 hour?

I was about to make a similar topic about allowing no-cooldown time between reports. That said, in case you haven't seen this announcement, Fenris covered the topic about spam bots. Since they are just normal spams and not much as to say "emergency" that would require a moderator right away (although it it rather annoying seeing a bunch of spam threads at once), I don't think that would be necessary. (Then again, that's just my opinion.)

Might not be an emergency when it comes to gore or porn/hentai, however, there I've came across eleven bots so far since I logged in 24 mins ago ranging between one and twenty posts each. That isn't an emergency that's an epidemic. The cooldown should be removed or reduced to help the reporting process.

Well to be honest alot of the mods are canadian. So we tend to be on during the day and not the late evening early morning when the most of the posts seem to post. We all do our best and try and do what we can though the report system is there for a reason. If we can not get to the bot asap the reports are there so if they are missed we back track. It would be pointless to hire/add a new staff member to the list just to ban bots. I mean Mods and Admins ban bots...artists and writers can only delete threads not ban bots.
As such there is a limited amount of us that ban and delete bots. Bots will always be there but they dont hurt you. As long as its not gore, hentai and posses a threat it should not matter the time it takes to remove the bot when there is a limited amount of us that can do the work. Please...just let us do our work. We know there are bots hence the announcement. ~*~*~*~*~*~ ♥...If you will have me we shall be...♥~*~*~*~*~*~ ![]() ~*~*~*~*~*~♥ ...Together forever and a day...♥ ~*~*~*~*~*~

I am locking this thread. Please stop posting multiple threads about bots. We are aware of the situation as mentioned in the announcement and we are doing all we can. Please try to be understanding.

These probably aren't the responses that you're looking for, but I'd like to throw my two cents in about the two issues you brought up.
1) The report system was coded primarily for everyday, non-bot uses. They put in the timer so that people would not report a bunch of things super quickly. In the case of bots, this limit does seem to be a hassle. I will look into the timer and see if we can't lessen the wait time a bit to help with reporting them. 2) Another thing to keep in mind is that Trisphee is a smaller avatar forum. We cannot just continue to add staff, because when the bots recede, we have tons of staff with very little to do. We're trying to strike a balance between too many bots and too many mods. We can definitely look into finding a new mod in a different timezone, but it's not as simple as just location. Dawn, I seriously understand your frustrations, and trust me, we've done and are working on things to limit or stop bots. The major hurdles are development time and the fact that computers are better at most common deterrent methods, which leaves humans having trouble with them out of luck. ![]() ![]() Galla: always, all the time, a galla has no tolerance for it, and galla has all the tolerance.
