I think I might do a thing once I get back home, where I use a random character generator in combination with random ocean life and draw really weird merfolk.

One day you're picking a fight with an otter over their numerous crimes and because they stole the kelp from your roof,
the next, you're up and swimmin' around, feeding the same sharks that took a bite out of ya.
