Look. Google tracks, yes. But not through googleapis. I use that to make the site load faster and more reliably. There is no other purpose to doing it.

Blocking that site will render quite a lot of the internet unusuable.

As for slow speeds, I'm not sure on that one. Your browser might be reforming its cache

It is a CDN (content delivery network) and there is literally nothing in the files being included there to siphon your information. (That's google analytics, which is brought in from a different location.)

That's to be expected. None of the features like Quick Reply should be working correctly, either. They work, but much slower. You need to make sure this address can be accessed, and is not blocked:

ajax.googleapis.com/

It's their open source stuff.
