    Hey, Vince!

Things are going okay for me- been a lot busier than usual, which has impacted my socializing time. Glad you're feeling better and posting around again. *nods* :3

Yeah, it was pretty overpowered. I think ended up giving to Locke, since Terra and Celes were just spamming Ultima every round, Edgar was jumping, Sabin was blitzing. I gave the Master Scroll to Setzer, actually, with his Fixed Dice, which worked out pretty well.

And no, I was just 5 or 6 at the time when I was playing it. :P

Yeah, I think it was called Illumina in the older versions, you could also steal it from Kefka, iirc. (Which is pointless except on the GBA where there's a bonus dungeon after the end of the game.) It was basically the same as the Ragnarok sword, but it was back row compatible and it couldn't miss. Oh, and it raised evasion by a ton, I believe.

I think I had the strategy guide when I played it on the SNES, so I never had trouble with that. My issue when I was younger was always being underleveled because I used to get afraid of the monsters and run from battle all the time. :P

Yeah, it was called the Offering in the older versions. I was thinking of the GBA release.

And Ragnarok (the Esper) was really kind of pointless with the Paladin Shield teaching Ultima. Plus Terra and (I think) Celes learn Ultima naturally if you level them high enough, and you can bet the sword at the coliseum to get the Lightbringer sword, which is even better (and can be used by more people).

Even still, though, I don't think that kind of mod would have the appeal of overhauling the entire class system of tactics, adding new items, new battles, new NPCs, etc like 1.3 did. I suppose it'd be possible, but I think it'd almost be a new game at that point.

Oh, that involved using the Genji Glove and the Master Scroll relic to attack 8 times for 9999. :P

Of course, while that was broken, nothing was quite like double-casting Ultima for 1 mp per cast with the Celestriad + Soul of Thamasa. That was... unnecessary, but so much fun. :D

Oh, the Paladin Shield was very much worth it. (I say, playing usually on an emulator that can fast forward battles :P) It made whoever used it pretty much invincible.

And I think there actually is a difficulty mod for 3/6 by the same people (they have mods for most of the FF games), but it hasn't gotten anywhere near the support that 1.3 got, I don't think it's finished. It didn't look that fun, though, it mostly just took the overpowered things away from you. I think it limited each character to using certain Espers (like 4 each), which sounded pretty dull. I'm not sure how you'd go about making a truly rewarding difficulty mod like 1.3 for it that breathes new life into the game.

Yes, 3/6 was in Anthology. And seriously?!?! That was by far the easiest FF game! You could kill the final boss in literally 1 hit with the right equipment setup. :P

...I say this having beaten like 6 million times and knowing everything about the game lol. Pretty sure those dinosaurs gave me a hard time when I first played too. ;)

The thing I loved about that game was the characters and how you got to control 3 different parties for the final dungeon. Of course, that meant you had to level everyone up, too...

Well, I did play them originally at a very young age. 6 was the first RPG I ever played, back when it was Final Fantasy 3 on SNES. Any departure from that formula just doesn't sit well with my subconscious. :P

Pretty much everything about it. :P

I just hated the sphere system, couldn't stand the characters or the story. I honestly don't really like any of the 3d ones, just 1-6 + the original Tactics. And this new one. I'm not sure what changed in the transition, but they just feel different to me. 7, and 8, and 9 were okay, but I only ever played them once. X and X-2 made me quit getting the new games.

You are evidently more of a fan of X than I was. :P

Hmmm, I'm actually not familiar with challenge runs on those. No item world? That'd only work for the main game. I think most would, unfortunately.
