*holds you close* From what you've told me, you're probably NOT going to lose him. Although they still have him listed as being in critical condition, that's most likely just a precautionary status at this point. *kisses your forehead* I will not let you give up hope.

If he's survived through the surgery and is able to talk now, there's a good chance he'll come out of this whole ordeal alive. So long as he follows the doctor's instructions and doesn't strain himself, he should be alright. A few inches of intestine is a small sacrifice. The fact that he's already out of surgery is a very good sign. It means they think he has a good chance at a full and speedy recovery.
