That sounds beautifully ideal. . __. I mean, I've heard of communes, but that wasn't really my speed, since the ones I looked at usually didn't have reliable electricity or internet (crucial for my work, since it's primarily computer-based). Where should I start looking? Do you have any knowledge of the more reliable names I can look into (and the shady ones to avoid)?

Right now I'm in North Carolina, but it really wouldn't be difficult to get wherever if there's a guaranteed port at the end of it. What's this co-op thing you're talking about?

It's not bad! I have a lot of friends and family. I'm not mooching, either, this is just temporary. I'm having trouble finding any kind of job anywhere, so I'm 'fishing' in different areas until I can find one. Then I'll find a place in that area and settle in.

Or, worse case scenario, my portfolio will be finished, I'll have some comics made, and be able to afford rent on some cheap place.

It's not like I sit on my duff. When I'm not studying or practicing--I alot myself eight hours a day, until New Year's, when I will start the actual paneling and comic-ing solo--I keep the house, babysit, petsit, housesit, cook, shop-- whatever my current overlord requires. It really does work out, and I never stay long enough to wear out my welcome.
