I should probably talk to Suze or Espy, but the latter I know just doesn't want to talk about it - I may be a tad peeved about that - I may try to talk to Suze about it, if he is up to it.
I would say that both comedy and horror are supposed to depict suffering and fears and help us cope with them by simulation with a fictionalized aspect to make it easier. Comedy makes suffering overdone or surprising, and horror exposes us to the adrenaline to cope with fears and the unknown.
Tragedy...removes the fictionalized aspect as well as usually invokes my greatest plot pet peeve (not solving the main problem set up in the story)...and therefore leaves you on your own to cope with it.
