he saw the other ship as it passed in front of him, toy-sized in the distance. it did not raise it's flag but it was obviously prepped for battle, he could see that as well as anyone. he figured it to be a sneak attack, aimed to overtake the judith should she run. he turned to roy and took a step to him but as he did the other turned towards him. it was only for a moment though, no recognition as he flipped back around his heel completing a pivot. he began to yell at a suprised looking man as the rest of ship when silent. damaris could not see so he went fully out onto the deck. he stopped in his tracks, the other ship was raising a roger. it was a pirate vessel! he no longer cared if the other would be mad he knew this was a story he'd never see again for as long as he lived. he went over to roy and watched as the pirate frigate attacked the navy frigate, it was no contest, the navymen were in the wrong position and not expecting it the two ships touched and the battle was taken on foot. he grabbed roy's cloak and pointed, two small figures were moving about on the upper deck, he could make no details but he could easily guess it was the two captains. one of the figures dropped and all fighting on the ship soon stopped, it was a surrender.
