he had tried to look as if he was still asleep, and until he was questioned he figured the ruse had worked. the man, felix? had been very loud, traipsing up and down the hall for several minutes before entering. he woke up from that quickly enough but the other seemed to have been asleep up until the mate came in. he didn't think on it much longer though.

'a bit, is that alright?' he opened his eyes. he had not eaten that morning and his belly was starting to make itself known.
