There was a chill running down the spine of Funkduder. He had never seen this side of her before…. It terrified him, and increased his feelings for her as well.
The night was darker than black as Funkduder walked through the mist, attempting to reach the home of Batty, Queen of Midnight.
In order to continue participating in the contest for her hand, her favor, he needed to find her house without her guidance. It seemed to be a simple task to almost all of the newer suitors who, like him, had only known of Batty’s beauty for a little while.
Now none of them were with the contender as he walked forward through deep wilderness and mist.
“Perhaps they found a better way,” Funkduder thought aloud. “Have they found her house without me? Maybe they are all there without me…with her…”
Endless tormenting thoughts haunted him as he thought of what they could possibly be doing with her. He just wanted to be there her. Even if she allowed another to be there, he wanted to fulfill his word.
“I said I would reach for her hand.”
And so he drove forward, through the brush and mist, to reach for her hand.
When he found the house it did not seem to be as it was described to him. A dark house with broken and no door stood in front of him. A single, lit candle illuminated the feeling that no one was there. Wind blew softly, though the sound was amplified by the absence of light. The suitor took one step… two steps…and at the third the floor boards creaked and the wind blew through the room again…. The candle went out….
A door could be seen, albeit with greater effort, on the other side of the room underneath two sets of broken stairs that led to the same second floor that was no longer there. Now that he looked, he noticed that the roof wasn’t there either.
“Is this really the place?”
He walked to the door, hearing the floorboards creak as he did until he got to the door. He couldn’t see it from where he stood, but the door had a green aura around it, a neon green aura.
“This has to be the place,” Funkduder said, opening the door. Words glowed in the black light that illuminated the hallway….
‘Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.’
‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?’
‘Pity is for the living, envy is for the dead.’
‘And this is the forbidden truth, the unspeakable taboo-that evil is not always repellent but frequently attractive; that it has the power to make of us not simply victims, as nature and accident do, but active accomplices.’
‘There is something haunting in the light of the moon; it has all the dispassionateness of a disembodied soul, and something of its inconceivable mystery.’
‘Tired’
‘Lonely’
‘I’m innocent!’
They were all written in blood.
He tried to read all of the quotes before proceeding through the end of the hall, but he felt that he would break down into a fetal position if he read anymore. He came unarmed, at the request of Batty, and now regretted it due to the amount of panic that was coursing through his veins.
Descending down a flight of stone stairs, he saw a door surrounded by more bloody inscriptions. He did his best not to look.
‘...and death take me-’ He quickly jerked his head away.
There was a glow coming from the cracks between the words and the door. Orange light came from within, possibly fire… or maybe…
He slowly opened the door to find that there were many torches throughout the room. But the light did not come directly from the torches but from the pool in the center of their glow. The hostess of the competition stood in the middle of pool alone, facing away, fully clothed but drenched in the orange-ish water. Chalked markings gave the pool a mysterious look, as though there was something secret and intimate that he was interfering in.
Then Batty noticed his presence. She turned her head, bearing fangs, and Funkduder finally noticed what was in front of him, beyond his vision until now. She dropped the body of Nikko Gallarado and the water began to grow a shade of darker red.
“Ah~ I see that you have arrived, love. <3” she said and the fangs receded back as she turned the rest of her body, and her attention, away from the bloodying pool. Funkduder froze as Batty leaped out of the pool and got close to him, dragging her fingers up his back and down his chest. “Why so quiet, love? I promise that I won’t bite.”

KALEI
It is dark outside. As it should be, because it is well past midnight. I walk through the house, preparing to retire, but a shadow in the window catches my eye. I turn to look, but nothing is there. It must be the emptiness of house getting to me. The house was huge, but I was all alone. My footsteps echoed across the tile, reverberating on the walls. There! I could have sworn I’d seen something creeping in the shadows. This is preposterous, nothing’s there. Yet, I have an uneasy feeling I can not shake. A floorboard creaks overhead serves to spur on this irrationality. I turn on an overhead light, and am greeted by my living room furniture. I breathe a small sigh of relief. I turn out the light and continue using my lamp. I am still for a moment, then a sudden chill comes over me. I decide to go directly to bed, It is late and I am starting to hallucinate. I climb the stairs and they quietly protest my weight. I am about to enter my room when I catch a glimpse of the hall mirror. With the light of the lamp, I certain I see a figure looming over me. I quickly turn around, but all I see is my empty hallway. Everything is in place like it should be, except for a floral vase that is floating 2 inches above it’s table. I run quickly into my room and turn the lock. I can hear it’s hollow moan from the other side of the door. I franticly search for a hiding place, and settle for the wardrobe. I blow out my lamp, maybe It can’t see me if there’s no light. I stood perfectly still and held my breath, praying that it wouldn’t find me. Silence, it’s as if the world has stopped. No moans to be heard, not even a peep from the world outside. I wait for what seems like hours anticipating something to break the silence. I then feel something winding up my legs, it chills my skin through my clothes. I do not dare utter a sound. It's to my torso now, I can not move, even if want to, It has it’s icy grip has a secure hold on me. When it is to my neck, all is still silent. In my head though I am screaming with pure terror. It is covering my head now. Then it tightens its’ total grip around me, and I feel it devouring my very essence. It is only now I scream, piercing the silence with my pain as my life slips away.[/QUOTE]
SERRA
Batty was tired after another long day of working out. She had done everything she normally had done except her swimming, but that was because tonight was going to be special. She had read about a special lake that, if one were to swim in it on a full moon, at the right time, a wondrous thing would happen. So she was on her way to the lake, by car, and imagining all the wonderful things that could happen.
Batty arrived at the lake just before midnight. She parked the car and jumped out, throwing off her clothes and running straight for the lake, not worried at all if anyone else was watching. At the edge she did a graceful dive into the lake, and swam out toward the center. Once she reached there, she started floating on her back, staring at the full moon. All the things she had been thinking about as she drove danced in her mind, and she couldn't help but hope that maybe all of them might happen. However, a sharp stab of pain in her side darkened her current thoughts. She felt down and noticed that she had started bleeding, and wondered how that could have happened. She started carefully swimming back to shore when another sharp pain got her, this time in the leg. The bleeding was getting bad and she started getting dizzy. It was getting hard for her to keep her eyes open, and she was still far from the shore. Another pain hit her, on her arm, and the dizziness was finally enough to claim her senses.
Batty woke with a start. She was clothed, and sitting in her car at the lake. She wondered if it was just a dream as she got out of the car, but it was hard to stand because she was dizzy. She had bandages around the spots she had been bleeding from and she realized it was not just a dream. All around her car she was large paw prints, but she could not tell what animal they were from. As she got back in the car to drive home, she noticed it was just before dawn. She silently thanked whomever had saved her, and drove home thinking again on the wonderful things that might have happened at the lake.
NIGHTMARE
___The sun was shining bright on the city. Birds in the background chirped a melody as a figure entered the town unnoticed. Despite the heat being near unbearable, it was easy to tell that it was wearing a large cloak, hiding its appearance completely. The aura about it was evil, spooky, mischievous, as though it was itching to cause some trouble for the town. The only question was who would be the target? Underneath the hood the covered the head, a large grin was seen growing on the figures face, and as it turned around a corner, the entire person disappeared.
___No one nearby had seem to take notice of the person, as they were all still working on being normal.
___A small group of people sat together in a park, talking and having fun. The outfits they had on were all unique. Three females were enjoying the beautiful July air. Lucid and Batty were the two main girls talking, the third by the name of Nightmare mainly just listening. She enjoyed her time watching them have fun. Though she knew them quite well, she was always really quiet. “There’s this really cool abandoned house outside town,” Lucid spoke, “I thought it’d be fun if we went there tonight! All three of us, and we could try and find some cool things there.” Nightmare upon hearing this turned her head back to them.
___“Alright, what time should we meet?” Batty responded to Lucid.
___“Saaaaaay … 8, that way it’s close to being dark out. We’ll meet out the house itself.” Her head turned to the quiet girl sitting close to them. “You going to come Nighty?”
___Night was silent, thinking it over. Something about going into an abandoned house got her uneasy. She had a habit of being over paranoid about things, but this was one thing she thought was good to be paranoid about. An abandoned, run-down house where so many things could go wrong was just something that Nightmare couldn’t let her friends do alone. Sighing softly, she gave her answer, “I suppose I could.” She tried to make it seem like nothing was bothering her. It seemed to work.
___Close to the girls, the hooded figure had appeared, listening in on their conversation. The grin appeared once again. “Those girls,” said the semi-deep voice from the figure, “they’re perfect to mess with.” Fading into the darkness of a tree, he disappeared to begin working on his plot for that night.
___Hours passed, and soon enough it was eight o’clock.
___Lucid was the first one to appear at the house. She wanted to make sure everything was set. Batty came not long after she arrived. The only thing they were waiting on now was Nightmare. Walking down the road to the house, she couldn’t help – with each step she took – feel more and more like something bad was about to happen. No matter how badly she tried to shake the feeling out of her, it got worse and worse. There was no way to get it out of her now when the house came into view, along with the two other girls. Sighing, she knew there was no backing down on this now. Approaching the two, Batty smiled. “Glad you could make it, Nighty.” With that, the three of them headed inside.
___The inside of the house was dark and covered in webs from spiders that had taken over the house. A few bats flew out when the door opened, making Batty happy to see some. The house was pretty big, which meant a lot to explore. The girls went separate ways to look at different things. Nightmare still stood by the door, worried, now knowing something was going to happen. She couldn’t figure out just what, though.
___The same hooded figure lingered in the house, waiting for one of the girls to be seen. As he moved through the house, it could be seen that the figure was more sliding across the ground. There was no sound of footsteps being made as he spotted Nightmare by the door. Another large grin crossed his face as he slowly began to approach her.
___Lucid and Batty were still unaware of anything happening, until a loud yell was heard from downstairs, since both had venture upstairs. The two ran back downstairs, meeting up with each other along the way. “Nighty-!” Batty said, but it was too late. Their quiet friend was no longer there, and the only thing that remained of the girl was a necklace where she stood …

But suddenly there's a terrifying wheeze.
Both girls freeze on the spot.
Afraid to move in case they'd be caught.
They might be followed by a creeper.
Or maybe it's just Lucid being a peeper.
Just then, out walks a black cat.
Relieved, Batty gives Taiki's shoulder a pat.
"Nothing to be afraid of Taiki!"
"Yes, better than what I thought it might be!"
The duo goes on their merry way.
To spend quality time together til the break of day. ;3

ZANE
Roses are Red,
Black when painted by the Dead.
Violets wither Blue,
When held in comparison to You.
Queen of Halloween,
Is the crown you've claimed,
Goddess of the Nights,
Is your name by rights.
Writing spooky is hard,
When you dont spend time in a graveyard.
But the facts are true,
No one can hold a candle to you.
So we beg of you,
Let us succumb to you.
you see some fun in us,
and we'll play with you this game
until there is one,who will scream your name.
This is all in the name of fun,
even if this poem fails,
everyone has won.
