he woke before the sun could rise and the bricks looked faded and dull in the hazy pre-dawn light but for once the drive to go take his place at his grandmother's feet with the other dogs he was forced to call his family was not there. he wanted to spend a sunday morning away from sneaky cousins and an old woman whose love dried up over the most trivial youthful mistake. frowning at the thought he twisted around so he was facing the sleeping man and shook him awake. "go back to sleep we are cuddling"
