That's so insightful I'm almost stunned it applies to something I wrote. :p
*ahem* What I mean is I, of course, planned and plotted all of that with excruciating precision and care.
(actually a balance between those two. ;))
Also, I forgot, there's an entire other angel to it dealing with literary criticism that also sort of worked it's way in there. The title is dealing with that aspect, and yet, it ties into the overall concept that pretentious analyses and speculation as to meaning and intention of the author and so on is... wasteful, almost to the point of providing a false (and hollowing) meaning of it's own (the act of such criticism). More broadly, I think it's saying that there are more important things in life, and they don't require so many (big) words. Or something to that effect.
Or, alternatively, there are no important things in life and language itself is a semantic battle we can't help but lose. If you want to be all morbid about things. :p
Cold silence has a tendency

between supposed lovers.
Between supposed brothers.
