oh i'm sure there's plenty of people who've been crocheting longer than me! it's not a race :)

and i do agree, small fiddly things to crochet aren't the easiest things. they're small and fiddly. ;)

I found a pattern for a crochet version of the Gävle Goat, and I kinda wanna try my hand at it, and maybe design a knitted version, too

Den: I can see how that would be easy to crochet. Are hay bale shapes easy to knit, too? Or would you have to do a lot of sewing of pieces?

for my younger daughter, i crocheted a "1-Meg Grumpasaurus" (it's a Grumpasaurus, actually) from a knitting pattern, and said younger daughter made me an FSM, also from a knitting pattern, so there are some crossovers with the amigurumi.

The Gävle Goat survived to the new year!

As for knitting, it'd actually be pretty easy. Hard part would honestly be making sure the ends aren't going to show stuffing through them, and that's easy enough to fix.
