lol I was also referencing a "Let's Play" video of "Trouble in Terrorist Town" with a group of players who were talking about the scene Cho and I referenced.
I actually liked a few of the new episodes. /:c Although it didn't entirely feel like the Twilight Zone...I don't think anything can really match The Twilight Zone entirely, <x} no matter how hard people try. Season 2 will be coming in the future. :/ I'm hoping they have more to offer than Season 1's episodes though. B/ Wasn't too impressed with where some episodes went in terms of twists, and the messages were pretty clear cut for the most part, just not always delivered well. <:] I did like the fact that they included easter eggs and good acting, and even some emotional moments. <B/ But where it fell flat with me was how long the episodes were in total. It's like season 4 of the original series, where it feels really long and drawn out being an hour long..when MOST of the original series did phenomenal in just 28-40 minute long episodes.
>;c The first season of the original had 36 episodes, while this new season has just 10. VERY underwhelming. Mostly due to the fact that CBS shows on it's Access service are all long, high budgeted and likely have the corporate meddling present in production, preventing some of the shows from being better than they could be.
Rod Serling had to deal with this, along with ridiculous censorship back then too, yet he found ways to work around it, and managed to deliver a series that would be unfortunately overlooked in the 60's, but revered and inspiring today. o.o Which is quite the artist feat. I think that's what Jordan Peele is trying to embody and accomplish, <:/ because he's made some interesting Twilight Zone-esque movies so far. And he's a brilliant comedian and visionary and overall inclusive director. :]
But it's a difficult aspiration to tackle. <:/ And I think overall, it's going to be another reboot that joins the others from the 80's and mid 2000's on the shelf.
:c The episodes I liked the most though were
REPLAY
THE BLUE SCORPION
SIX DEGREES OF FREEDOM
A TRAVELER
and NOT ALL MEN.
Mainly due to my alien bias. <x} And also that choices and dark themes were present. :c I also liked the chaos in Not All Men, and it's twist. <x'} But, at the same time, I enjoyed the paranoia and panic in Six Degrees, and in The Blue Scorpion. :] Though both had kind of flat and unrelated endings to their messages. :/ Cool ideas though.
I'll stick with being more excited for Black Mirror though. <x}
Sorry this rant was so long. e~0; whew!
