Some women use the blood from their menstrual cups on their gardens!

I won't do that to choco-potato though

Ooo! That sounds interesting!

I use a menstrual cup myself. I've been considering collecting the blood for a while. But since I'm in an apartment right now, I decided against it. We only have two bathrooms, and when people visit, I'd rather them not see a jar of my menstrual blood when they need to use the toilet lol

I do feel like the menstrual blood would make my veggies and herbs sad :(

It is not a neat fact, but billy goats pee on their beards to attract lady goats. They also um... "clean" themselves....if you catch my meaning...

They are believed to be the first animal that humans domesticated and we have been tending goats as a species for over 9000 years

You'll always feel it, but can never see it. It's strong but shatters easily. You can give it away but never hold it. What is it?

In the summer we grow mostly salad greens, broccoli, snap peas, cannabis and a variety of kitchen herbs. At my elevation we have a really short growing season so things like tomatoes, squash and cabbages don't do super well. We tried red cabbage this year and the ones we managed to grow were smaller around than my palm lol

have you tried hot-housing? a bit of clearish tarp or glass over the boxes can do wonders if you make sure to let the plants breathe a little. we grew forearm-length cucumbers that way and fed all the local caterpillars and mantasis XD

Yeah, the problem is that we just don't get enough sunlight here once fall sets in and even during the summer it still can drop down to 40F degrees at night.

the covering helps with the temps actually, not sure what to do if there is too little light to grow things

Without the longer sunlight exposure the soil just never gets warm enough for some plants. That's okay though. We just learn to plant what we can. Some things work, some don't. That's life.

We had 8 inches of snow the day before Halloween, mdom lol
