I am feeling "custom order pressure" now.
Still haven't finished the cat plushies that I wanted to be done with by this weekend...and also the scales I needed for a custom order came in on Thursday so I need to get that started ASAP.
I think the person who ordered them is out of town until the end of the month, so I have some time on them, but I still just feel like I need to do everything all at once and slight panic is setting in even though I logically know that I have plenty of time to work on stuff this week.

And what did I bring with me to work on during my boring shift at work? A non-essential fox plushie...

Lol. Thanks! So far I have....done almost nothing on my essential projects. Did wade through my closet to get to my yarn bins only to discover that I didn't actually have a bukky weight red like I thought I did. So bought some today for the gloves.
But nothing has been worked on beyond that.
But will probably try to finish up 1 cat plushie tomorrow.

Update: No cat plushie progress. Did start working on the scale glove order tonight, only to realize that I grabbed the wrong purple scales so I had to undo 2 rows of my loom knitting and will have to wait until I get home to double check. So that was fun.
But might actually work on the gloves a bit when I get home anyway as I really am excited to see how they look when they're done. I decided to go with a sort of drip/flame design, which I think looks really sick in the purple and red. At least, it does in the colored mock-up I did of it.

^ Got home, double checked purple. I had the right one all along. However, also discovered that for the design I was planning, I needed to order another bag of scales. So I have a decent start on the first glove, but will likely be delayed by another week or two while I wait for the second order of scales I've had to make.

Lol. No kidding.
More ups and downs today. I got so into the rythm of the scale rows that I forgot to make the thumb hole and had to undo 8 rows. XD
But am now only 6 scale rows away from the first glove being done and then just have to wait for my order of purple scales to arrive (hopefully next week) to make the second one.

I've worked up a loose crafting schedule for the weekend/early next week.
Tonight: finish 1st scale glove
Saturday: finish cat body (legit only have like 6 or 7 rows on it)
Sunday: assemble the first cat and start on the pattern for the second cat body
Monday: start the cat body (the color-working on it is gonna be a real bitch tbh)
Tuesday: finish second cat body and assemble second cat

And hopefully by then, my purple scales will have arrived so I can make the second scale glove. But if they haven't, I have a lot of projects I can work on anyway and I can prep my loom (move the stitch markers) for the second glove and get the cuff of it done at least.

Awww yeah, I know how that feels. Hopefully your motivation will kick in, but if it doesn't, there's nothing wrong with taking some time off from making things either. I mean really...look at me, I think in 2020 I only finished 1 real project outside of the maybe 5 masks I made (all of which need the elastic ear straps redone because I can't seem to get the size right so they're all either too loose or too tight).

Ah, I have too many things I want to make all at once.
Am taking some notes of things to test/measure/etc for a cool project I want to make later this year. Money permitting.

I found pics of a needle knit one that someone had made probably like 6 or more years ago and have wanted one ever since so I'm probably gonna pattern test one without scales first just to see if the base needs any tweaking/shaping fixes, fix/adjust if necessary then make one with scales!
Also the original image has scales all the way around the arm, but for comfort (both in potential rubbing/scraping/pinching of clothes or maybe skin and also in weight) and to save a little on money might leave scales off the inner arm like I do with my fingerless gloves.

It's hard to stay focused on just one project when I have so many things I want to do. XP

Lol. I'm bad at keeping to actual plans, but I do have 2 commission orders in progress (1 of which, I really do need to get done asap), with a new plushie commission in negotiations.

At some point, I want to get some project planner sheets made up so I can get a project planner actually ready for keeping track of orders and general projects that I am working on/want to work on instead of just jotting down stuff on scrap paper and in random notebooks where they get lost and forgotten.
