which series is that? i have a few YA vampire series that have like 2, 3 or 6 books in them. short reads, i might want to re-read....eventually. XD

It is the Black Jewels trilogy by Anne Bishop. A series I loved in high school, but don't often think about until I find it while digging through my bookshelf. Will probably clear it out after my reread. Idk.

It's a pretty good fantasy series. A little basic, but it's not afraid to be dark and I like it for that.

Also...am at 11 finished books, with 2 in progress. Might actually finish my 12 books (and then some!) unless I fizzle out really hard and just stop reading for 2 months. Lol

Today's been a good day for that actually. Especially since my phone's mobile hotspot is very slow so instead of playing animal crossing today, I've spent all day waiting for the latest update to download. Started atound 7-8 hours ago....and it's up to 56% done.

Am gonna try to work up a partial list for next year of books to read to add more variation to my book diet. So far, I have a list of 6 books: a "greatest book of all time", a top selling book from 2021, a "classic" lgbtq+ book, a mystery "for people who don't read mysteries", a western, and a book "commonly read in highschool that deserves a reread".
Basically pulled up some book lists, rolled a d20 and put whatever book landed in that spot onto the list.
Will also go through the books in my apartment and add some of those (probably 1 reread and at least 1 or 2 "new" books).

my plan is always "read more than last year" - I wonder if I can do it in 2022.

Lol. And a lot on hold. I only have 1 on hold and 2 books in progress. But hopefully this week can get at least one of them done. I've definitely slowed down again on reading.

and out of the remaining 5 I have on hold, only one is in the catalog. the others are awaiting arrival, processing, or something, because while they're listed in the system, they don't have a call number or anything yet.....

Ah yeah, those shou be pretty quick reads then.

I did finish another this morning before work! And started another book the other day that I need to add to the list. Gotta stop looking at books when I'm checking them in...I keep grabbing new ones to read. XP
Probably gonna not check out any others until after Christmas unless the one I have on hold comes in before then. Just because I have projects I should work on and if I keep checking out books to read, I'll never make the time to get them done.
Main priority is a tote bag for a friend (need to buy some belting for handles on it maybe though at the very least I want to have the fabric cut and ready by this weekend) and some Derpy skirts. And maybe a couple winter face masks.

oh I totally get that. i worked at a library in my county a million (23?) years ago, and I found all kinds of books I wanted to read. and then 11 years ago, I worked at my local Borders.... and i'd ring up customers and then sometimes i'd put it on hold for me at the library! XD
