Assuming and being wrong is possibly like the most thing to do... and if you assume and you are -right-, it usually doesn't make you feel any better ^^;;

However, if your curiosity is really strong, it's best to ask in private or something.

If the person is notable for talking about you... then it's safe to say that he might be lying...

Otherwise.. you can ask other people that he talks to about it. Preferably people who actually like both of you.

The main problem with this, is that if it's supposed to be a secret... then I think you're better off in ignorance ^^;;

If someone is not saying something to your face.. there must be a reason behind it.. whether it means they're cowardice or it's really not something you should know about.

Also... imo, the fact that you -think- it's about you...means that you -do- have something related to what he said... whether negative or positive. I don't know any non-paranoid people who just assume that people are always talking about them without a reason or past experience.

Theres kinda of a tad back story but I'll only tell the relevant part.. My hubby has a wart on the bottom of his foot and we were walking out of the ER him and his mom were saying there are different types of warts..then the first wart he says is "marital(sp?) warts" ...

He could have been joking, but if it's the whole poking fun at you thing again... I'd reckon to kick him in the shins... and then play it off as an accident *shrugs*
