My mother did volunteer work for a vet, while serving as the main (Only) person for an animal shelter (did everything...)
...she wanted to be a Zoo vet. Circumstances pushed her into High School Teaching instead.

Yikes... It's hard work running a place like that by yourself. Does she enjoy teaching?
