Dragon of Ice
Default Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft   #1
Well, the game is still in Beta right now but I managed to snag an invite and was curious if anyone had managed to as well.

For those who don't know, it's a card based game similar in nature to Magic the Gathering. You get one mana crystal a turn with a max of ten total. It's actually kinda addictive...and if any of you have played World of Warcraft or even Warcraft III then you'll recognize some of the cards and definitely the "champions" that serve as the basis for your decks.

Hearthstone
I'm only a man with a candle to guide me
I'm taking a stand to escape what's inside me
A monster, a monster

Den of Two Dragons

The ever amazing cap'n obvious
Husband got a beta invite recently as well and has been playing it. It's fun to watch a game or two and the mechanics are interesting enough, but I absolutely hate the aesthetics. The voice overs are very annoying, and the fact that every card has to explode into magic sparkles and rocks makes what's happening on the board really unclear. Plus, that board. What is this, a card game for ants?!? It's like a 4 or 5 inch square playing field, judging by the wood in the background.

Well...it is still in Beta so they can change things. I actually have another beta key (got a second one...no idea why to be honest) if anyone wants to try it out.

Hm, I wonder if you applied for the beta with two emails or something? I know it's in beta but I doubt they will take out the voice overs or the graphics. A lot of time and resources went into creating those. An option to disable them would be great though. There's nothing in the menu for it yet.

I actually looked back and one was for me signing up for the beta and another for doing the beta of the Battle.net Desktop App. *facepalms* Wish I'd read through the emails before....or rather should have.
