<x} My parents are old, but one is a pre-teen from the 80's 90's and 2000's and the other is a boy from the 1800s, 1970's and 2000s all at once. I know old things, although, it's because I like learning about old stuff. XD

<x} hehe well, he grew up with toys like, a stick, and a ball and getting into fights with his brothers, and learning to butcher a chicken/pig/goose for food, and likes to think he's a cowboy, and wants to be a cowboy, and by all ethnic and cultural rights, he probably has cowboy blood as a direct descendent of Mexico. :] Sooo, yeh. x} he's a couple centuries old dude. But his actual age is 55. XD

@Kaderin Triste: oh, hun. :c That's just awful. That was how it was for me when I worked at Wal-Mart. I would come home limping every day, no thanks to some horrible shoes some awful woman convinced us to buy at Academy Sports.

I'm now chronically ill, but I just opt to laugh at myself and my illnesses. |D

My feet aren't usually too bad if I can keep moving, and thankfully at JoAnn, even cashiering is seldom just standing at the register all shift (at least at the store I work at) but I spent almost 6 years as a grocery store cashier and I never want to subject my feet to that again.

Awww. Sorry to hear about your illness, but glad that you aren't letting it get you down!

loooool I do NOT miss working at retail. Is it just me, or has anyone else ever found their feet hurt less after a day of working on their feet whn they're moving around the store as opposed to just standing in one place?

i think it's because when you're moving, you're using other parts of your feet. it also might depend on how you stand and whether or not you tend to shift your position.
percival is busy being queer as hell. he was also here.
somewhat busy working for trisphee.

Why walk at all? Or even stand? :} Floating sounds way better! *floats on belly*
x} But as much as I'd love to just float all the time, legs must still be used, or else they atrophy.

you can't just float all the time. doesn't that take up energy?

Hey, I grew up with a stick and a ball too ^^ our family had a couple of these diabolo juggling things, plus one supermarket back then did a kid's reward program at the end of each school year where everyone with good enough grades in their report card would get a ball for free. They stopped eventually, but by then I had scored five or six balls.

Have never worked in retail, but I agree that my feet also hurt less when walking around a whole day than when standing still for hours (with only so subtle position shifts).
