I hate how popular Pinterest is. Because literally everyone is like "oh, you should check Pinterest!", but I just really don't get the point of it because 98% of the time, it's just the image and not actual instructions or pattern. And I just don't have the time to click through 20+ people's pin boards or whatever they're called, just to find the original source only to have the original pattern/instructions be no longer available.

I actually agree with that, it's super tedious to hunt down a pattern there. If I want instructions or patterns, I rather check instructables instead. But for a quick overview of what people have made, images alone suffice.

Anymore, depending on what I'm searching for, I either go with instructables, ravelry, or YouTube.

Sooo....when I got to work today I discovered that we actually had a surprisingly large quantity of the kitties in space fabric. So I bought almost 4.5 yards of it. It was 60% off PLUS employee discount...
Should be plenty for a skirt and extra in case I mess up.

Sounds like an amazing skirt. And if you don't mess up, you can sew a matching pillow case, or upcycle an old shirt. Or... well, I think you already know how to find inspiration.

Makes me wonder, does anyone of you hobbyists know a site similar to ravelry, but for sewing?

Those nail art designs look amazing, Damies. The work put in is so obviously shown and the colors look great together, you did an amazing job. Also, Kitty, it was most definitely directed towards you and I'm so glad you enjoyed reading it.

I was thinking maybe I'll save any extra I have and learn to quilt. Throw it in with some other cat and galaxy/space prints.

As for sewing sites similar to Ravelry, the only one I really found through a quick google search is Textillia. The only downside to the site that I can see so far is that after the first month free, you either have to pay for a subscription ($20 per year) or just give up.

Teach me cross stitch so I can make pretty things!
It seems like a fairly easy to customize thing.

The cat stitches keep sounding more and more amazing, Kaderin. I'm sure you'll do really well.

Lol. I always make big plans and then never follow through. XD
Fingers crossed I actually make something with the fabric soon.

Thanks for the link ^^

Big plans you never follow through on?

Yeah. I have saved around 100 different craft tutorials I want to try, and that's not even counting the 124 knit and crochet projects in my ravelry queue.

Cross stitch is actually fairly easy, it just takes a bit of practice to look neat (and a lot of patience if you plan bigger projects). Here's two youtube tutorial videos to get you started:

Rebooting....
Still haven't replaced the sewing machine I got conned into leaving behind eight years ago when we relocated halfway across the country.
