I never liked Yu-Gi-Oh. Its gameplay was too shallow in the early years and the mechanics have always been too blatantly susceptible to power creep and pay-to-win. A good TCG lets you build a playable deck using only commons and uncommons and still have a chance of winning -- yes, you're never going to avoid well-built, expensive decks always having an advantage, but a well-designed game will allow someone with a less-expensive deck to make up for some of the loss with good strategy. Magic: the Gathering does this. Pokemon TCG used to support it and still sort of does but the power creep has become an issue. Yu-Gi-Oh... nnnnnnot really. I've had a couple people try to argue that it does, but nobody has ever been able to actually show me.
