an absurd quest for light

and a funeral of other marvels

lying to the exegete horde

to fuel creation with chimerical deceit

these splendors of the flow of chaos

and the warped circle of our ages

returning in terror to the moment of birth

the torch of existential cognizance

thrust into the infant mind

gasping dreamer burned by sin and origin

thus their relevance

thus their majesty

thus their destiny to decay

like fate running dry

the alchemy of religious humors

rending meaning into stone

a desolate rose crushed by disorder

vexing the proof of theories profound

to boil God into isolate sephira

distilling the truth of rivers they will never part

the animate puppet of decisions regretted

to atomically replicate the ashes of Eden

to will the stars into imperishable angelism

to hoist their newborn eternal on the sacrificing cross

with their tears

and their mercurial hope

all indignity forgotten for the moment of defrauding bliss

standards relaxed and old scars cynically ignored

as wisdom climbs the tree of death with bloody hands

begging for a wandering gun to restore her to the void
