The Gate is a poem I've kept with me for a long while and reflect back onto from time to time. It really contains a piece of myself. Some of it may be confusing, but hopefully most of it is enjoyable over all. I am quite pagan, so you will experience a lot of pagan undertones while reading this.

If for some messed up reason you find paganism offensive, please leave quietly. I don't want to hear it. I don't accept chauvinism in my threads. <3

Run to where the water flows.
Stinging tears turn to snow.
Setting fires in your veins.
Don't turn back the way you came.

Twisting roots beneath your feet.
Living hum of Old River's beat.
Wind-whispered secrets soft to ears.
Invoke. Release. Your deepest fears.

Dancing light on surface skin.
Shadows kept reflect within.
Lantern, lake, ancient marble tomb.
You can't resist the changing soon.

Ancient mountains, pulsing sand.
Reaching for Life's guardian hand.
Time is racing, tracing fate.
The gift is yours, it's far too late.

In young groves under shaded leaves,
Twin souls, locks and sacred keys.
Pass through the Gate and everglade.
Dreams and nightmares never fade.

Time is short, once to start,
Would it stop to stop your heart?
