Probably the best thing about Cross Edge is its combat engine. It's kind of hard to describe, but it's just fantastic once you the hang of it. Battles are frenzied and fun, with an intricate combo system and several dozen characters to try out. It's easily one of the best fighting systems in an RPG I've ever experienced.

And whilst looking it up on Amazon (price seems to be 20 to 40 dollars, depending on if you want used), I came across an IF crossover game called Trinity Universe that sounds like it might be promising. I'm going to have to do some more research, as it's rare and really expensive, so not spending that kind of money unless it's one of the *good* IF games, and not in the Chaos Wars category.
