Well, Toho already mentioned he wasn't a graphics artist. I think it looks fine for something slapped together. I'm pretty sure it's temporary. I'm not a fan of the jewels being used for the banner but it works as a temporary setup. Hopefully the shop banners will be more stylized like the menu buttons.

Another idea would be creating an NPC for each shop. It's quite obvious that Sebastian is the shopkeeper of Archaic Antiquities. Now to set an NPC up for the rest of the shops as well. And maybe instead of just "Salon", base it off an NPC.

Then the NPC could be holding a pair of scissors or a blow-dryer or comb/brush, or anything you can think of that fits a hairstylists' profession.
And of course do the same for the others.
That way, when it comes time to release shop updates of new items, you can have those NPCs post like Sabastian does when his shop gets a new order of DI's (or whatever you guys call it here >-> I keep forgetting).

That way it gets more into the RP style this place is supposed to be.
