Okay, I think I understand the monthly items- they are like Gaia's MCs where one needs to own one item per pose, not like Roliana or Menewsha where owning one item lets you use as many poses as you wish *nod* Gotcha.
As for "opening" Rubies and Treasure, one must already have water and/or rations in order to "open" treasure, which... gives more water and/or rations?
I am sorry for all the newbish questions - this is just pretty foreign to me >.<
I must say, though, I am enjoying the "text based gaming" aspect of the event! I haven't played since I left behind my Commodore64 >.<
