Er... periodic elements, I’d go with iron. Progression of humanity and all that. Plus, I’m a mechanical engineer and roboticist.

Natural elements... everyone keeps saying I’m Toph, so I kind of want to go with earth, but it’s really water.
I love water.
I love ships and sailing and feeling the waves roll under your craft and smelling the brine on the wind.
I love walking the docks, memorizing the names of each of the scores of vessels, listening to the vendors hawking their latest catches, picking out the screech of seagulls from the barking of sea lions and the low bellow of foghorns.
I love sitting on a hundred-foot cliff, falling asleep to the waves crashing far below and sending sea spray at your face.
I love long baths and floating weightless and diving ten feet into a pool.
I love walking into rivers and hearing the stream gurgle and feeling the green fuzz beneath your feet.

...There’s a lot of joking that I’m some sort of merfolk.
