It was pretty simple, honestly.

I updated the OS to the latest version, and along with that updated all the system software to current supported stuff. And the database software no longer allowed something that older versions would. There was just a switch in the forum software that said "don't do this anymore" and flipping that switch made it work fine.

Though I have noticed the New Posts page is taking much longer to load up now, which is pushing "adjust New Posts" much higher on my todo list. (The new posts list on the homepage is much faster, though smaller)
