Kitaki fiddled with June's fancy headpiece, the feathers getting in the way as he fastened it around his tiger's ears. She looked so pretty in it, especially when the lights reflected off the sequins later on...but she hated wearing it.
With a stern look, he instructed her to wait in the back office and pushed the door through to the hallway. He could hear the music barling all the way from backstage. Kita pushed through the double doors and brushed past the left curtain to see how the crowd was.
It wasn't disappointing. Saturday nights were always busiest!
There were people of all races dancing on the floor to the tunes the DJ spun; colored lights reflecting off of their bodies as they moved.
There were even more entering -- with a quick glance, he noticed what appeared to be an Usagi girl looking around and pacing her steps.
There were a lot of regulars here tonight who had no doubt come for the show, but this girl didn't look familiar.
Not one to turn away a new customer, Kita flipped his hair, brushed himself off and decided to be the welcome wagon. Heading down steps, he began slipping his way through the restless bodies.
