It Won't Stop
Pillow shading is shading that's based heavily on where the outlines are, and not quite so much the general 'sun' thing people do. It CAN be used in very specific situations, such as when the subject is extremely close to a light source, and said light source happens to be between the subject and the viewer... But as you can imagine, these situations are few and far between! And by the time you even get into specifics like that, you can probably do it better.

I took a look at the tutorials you used, and I can see why you ran into a bit of trouble.

Maybe this one will help more: link!

Another thing I would suggest is working on getting rid of the stiff feeling. I'd suggest doing basic flats or simple shading if different cloths and clothing items. I'm pretty sure you can use your own to reference, yeah? But getting a looser, more natural feel will help leaps and bounds, too.

Twigg is brilliant at what she does. If she's helping you, I'm sure you'll do well.
