Try it my way sometime, it is marvelous. Both the garlic and the squash.
Yeah squash is soft and nice when cooked but also easy to over salt it sometimes.
I remember having ruined my vegetable stir-fries a couple of times with too much salt but mostly i go easy on the salt and heavy on the pepper.
