To me it is sad, the companies want to take a step forward, but they are actually taking a step backward and often do not acknowledge this or acknowledge it but do little about it.

Mean while you have the people who have supported them in the past that are aware of the problem. For example you realize what the problem is with the Final Fantasy series, however the company fails the acknowledge the problem or does not care enough to correct it, thus creates more games that allot do not want.
