Dalea blinked at him, then thought about his tree. She then led him through what seemed to be the back way out of the mound. They came to a large set of doors. "This is the exit. But, there are gaurds on the outside of the tunnel, so I'll go with you." She spoke softly to the door, then it opened smoothly. "Lets go."

After they got to the exit, the gaurds glanced at her but said nothing. She knew they would tell her mother, but it wouldn't make a difference. She wouldn't be returning any time soon. Her mother would only take her powers for awhile, that was a small punishment. She led the dryad away from the mound enough to where he could tap into the forest. "Here we go. You're free now. But, I have a question." She looked thoughtful. "Can you not just take the seed of your tree and grow a new tree? Take the seedling somewhere that is protected from the humans so you can live in peace?"
