After the message from the king he allowed to guards to walk him back to the outside of the palace. As soon as his horse was taken care of and in good enough rested condition to run again he took his leave from the capital. Sure he and the beast was tired and pushed to the limit from running the whole way but this was important. Really he thought this would have gone much worse.
It took a few days to get back to the Queen but when he did he quickly rushed to her throne room and dropped to one knee panting and trying to catch him breath before explaining to her the words from the king of the light elves. She stood after he finished speaking, this was very good to hear she seemed pleased as she dismissed the messenger and told him to rest his duty was done.
Though she quickly turned and smiled a bit at the two that were in her current company, one being Madaes and the other oddly enough Rhyldrin. "seems things may begin to settle once more.. " She sighed though it seemed to be a content one. "go get two others Madaes I Don't want to travel there overly guarded bu bring the best none the less." She had finished speaking as she dismissed them both, though this was good news Rhyldrin hardly seemed as thrilled as he should be.
Madaes did as he was told getting two others that he trusted with this task and knew were the top of the top. They'd need the best in case this was just a false message though everyone that had heard prayed it wasn't.
It took a few days to prepare for this meeting, going over a few what if's to ensure the Queen would be safe no matter what. After the preparations were complete The group of five rode out on horse back, though they weren't as rushed as the messenger had been. Altogether the travel time and preparations took at least a week, and they had sent a messenger ahead of them to let King Bryon know that the Queen was headed there.
Just outside of the light elf capital this little group was a sight to be hold to say the least. For starters five dark elves this close to the Light elf capital was making some nervous. But aside from that the group of them were donned in the Queens royal attire being dressed in red and black. Madaes had a slightly different dressing due to being a battle mage but the other two were dressed in what seemed to be full armor. Then Rhyldrin who had been forced to accompany the Queen and her party on this seemed to also be in similar colors. A bit of a change from what he normally wore being in half armor.
He sighed heavily waiting for the light elves to make up thier minds on what to do with the group. "tell me again why I had to come?" He asked Madaes who shook his head a little "you've been in the capital before so your the best bet we have if anything should go wrong to ensure the Queen can safely escape." He smirked a little "aside from that your one of the best duel blade fighters we have, so feel honored that you got to come"
Rhyldrin was hardly honored he hated this forced outfit he had on currently. "never again.." he hissed out towards Madaes who laughed at his remark. Sure the Queen over heard all of this but she had dealt with Rhyldrin before and this was more or less forced upon him, so she would let him complain for the time being. He'd be silent when it was needed and Madaes was right he was the best bet they had to her safety should something happen.
After a few moments a few guards came to the gates and said they would escort the group to the palace, from there someone else would pass word to the king that they were here. This was also the point where they left the horses behind, they would be put in the stables near the palace.
Once they got up to the palace and were escorted in someone from the ground floor walked off to get word to the king of his guests. Madaes was half looking around trying to keep a eye open in case it was needed when he noticed that Rhyldrin seemed bored with it all. "so whats it like to be back here?" Rhyldrin sighed a little "bout the same though I never got to see the ground floor to be honest."
It was just a bit of morbid humor between the two, though they skipped details they hardly wanted to start anything it was more or less passing the time. He was half wondering if Judith was here, he had heard that they sent a few of the encampments back to the capital after the commanders death, but he had been too busy to see if she was still around somewhere. Oh well it might have been for the better he was a bit forward the last time he was around her.
